- Crush the Bincho charcoal into a cloth bag using a hammer or coffee mill.
- Once the pieces are about the size of a grain of rice, wash the bag thoroughly. Of course, this is harmless from an sanitary viewpoint.
- Place the washed Bincho charcoal into a tea canister with a small hole on the bottom. Cover a funnel with gauze or a stocking and stick into a bottle.
- Pour water through it for a couple of minutes.
- It's not necessary to dispose the water used to wash or strain the charcoal. That water has already been changed to alkaline liquid so it can be used to remove the harsh taste of edible wild plants and green vegetables.
- This simple apparatus will absorb odors and reduce the chlorine. Only purify the water you plan to use at that time.
- After about a week, dry the Bincho charcoal in a microwave and it is ready to be reused in this Bottle Purification Method.
